Why Reflective Rebels Exists.
Reflective Rebels exists to spread joy. I want to change the world through human connection, reflective growth, and rebellious change.
Our values are:
-
Connection. Human connection is the point of it all. We grow through conversation, creativity, and community.
-
Mindful. Life is here, in this moment. Real change starts with presence.
-
Joy. Not just less stress, but excitement, more energy, more fun, more of what makes life feel good.
-
'Enoughness'. You are not broken. You don’t need fixing. Growth begins with knowing you're already enough.
-
Rebellion. Do it. Do it differently. Question the rules. Act from a place of purpose, not performance.

Meet Ben. Coach, founder and Reflective Rebel.
Hi,
I’m Ben - coach and rebel, business founder, husband to Natalie, father of three young kids, wildlife gardener, lover of the outdoors, jazz piano player beginner, saxophonist...and the heart behind Reflective Rebels.
My family and I live just North of Carlisle, Cumbria and I work with local business and charity leaders who want change.
Below you can find out what made me the coach I am today, why it might be right for you, and the purpose behind Reflective Rebels.

I get it.
I'm a good coach because I get it. For over fourteen years I’ve experienced the highs and lows of running a small business and leading a team. I started my first business, Alterline, in 2012 at the kitchen table. It’s grown since then into a super-cool insight agency run by an amazing management team.
I vividly remember opening the Champagne when we landed our first University client, hiring our first team member, jumping on a plane to India to meet new suppliers. But I also know the heartbreak of firing someone, messing up a project, or being chased for money when cashflow is impossibly tight.
Like you I’ve been there, done it, felt it.
I've hit rock bottom, and come back.
My burnout in 2015, following the birth of our second child (and some incredibly stressful fuck-ups at work), left me physically drained, overwhelmed by anxiety, and pretty much unable to function.
So yeah, I get the emotional side of business too. But through that darkness, I found my way back to health, balance, and purpose. My own experiences have shaped my coaching style, one that focuses on developing self-confidence, self-compassion and joy.
Your business or job should be a route to happiness and freedom, not a weight around your neck.

A qualified coach.
There are a lot of 'coaches' out there. When you work with me, you should know that I have an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring qualification, the highest coaching qualification available. The course is a soul-searching, rigorous, life-changing qualification if you get the chance.
The course not only shaped my own coaching practice, but also helped me overcome my own scepticism about coaching. True coaching isn’t about self-proclaimed gurus giving us their answers. My coaching is about truly listening, asking the right questions and empowering you to find your own path to growth and clarity.
