The Reflective Rebels Collective.
Human connections without the networking bullshit.
Tired of networking events where people thrust business cards at you hoping for a sale?
I spent months trying to design the perfect business networking event. Then during a sound bowl meditation, it hit me: Scrap all that. Just do something simple.
The Reflective Rebels Collective is an informal group where I suggest meetups each month - coffee tomorrow, sketching session next week, walk in the woods? You join if it sounds good.
Real conversations with people who understand running a small business, then go back to our lives feeling more connected and joyful.
Always completely free. No presentations, no business cards, no pretending you've got it all figured out.

What happens at The Reflective Rebels Collective?
"Coffee at 10am tomorrow, anyone fancy it?"
"Sketching session next week?"
"Walk in the woods?"
You get a message. You say yes or ignore it. We meet up, have real, enjoyable conversations with people who understand what it's like to run a small business, then go back to our lives feeling more connected and joyful.
Sometimes others suggest things too. Always completely informal. Always completely free (you might buy your own coffee or whatever).
No presentations, no business cards, no pretending you've got it all figured out.
Who is it for?
Small business owners around Cumbria who want:
-
Real, enjoyable conversations. Not sales
-
No more sitting in circles doing 60 second pitches
-
No one telling you off if you don't turn up
-
Activities that sound like they'll be enjoyable
-
Permission to just be human instead of "professional"
Common concerns...
"What if nobody shows up?" I'll be there. Sometimes the best conversations happen with just two or three people anyway.
"What if everyone else is more successful/confident than me?" We're all just small business owners trying to figure it out. Some days you feel on top of the world, others you wonder what the hell you're doing. That's exactly why we need each other - no pretending required.
"What if you turn out to be weird or pushy?" Fair question. I'm Ben - I run a coaching business, have three kids that I love to the moon and back (and who drive me crazy), I love the bees and butterflies in my garden and sometimes meditate with sound bowls. If you think I'm a prat after meeting me, just don't come next time.
"What if I'm not naturally social?" Neither am I, half the time. That's why we do things like sketching or walking - gives you something to focus on other than making conversation.
How much does it cost?
Completely free (you might buy your own coffee or whatever).
No membership fees, no upsells, no courses to buy later. Just human connection when we want it.
