More information

This April, step out of the office and into something very different at Talkin Tarn.

Green fields, lakes and trees didn’t just appear for our convenience. Like our www based lives, nature has its own wood wide web. It’s not necessarily a safe place, but it can be a place of intrigue and revitalisation. How often do you give yourself the  time to look deeper at the environment around you?

Join a small group of business owners for a practical, outdoors session that uses woodland, water and “wood wide web” thinking to explore how you run your business.

No flipcharts. No PowerPoint. No screens at all in fact. Just fresh air, conversation and a light, playful challenge.

Why come?

Clear your head: get away from screens and noise for an hour or two in a peaceful, accessible landscape.

Think differently: Use trees, time and the impermanence of life as prompts to see your business from new angles.

Connect with others: Walk, talk and solve simple challenges with other owners who care about doing business well. Like our business’ nature is made of connections. Connections that build the foundations of resilience from the roots of our conversations that are at the heart of creative thinking.

What we’ll explore

You’ll find your way around the tarn in small teams, following simple prompts.

Along the way, you’ll be encouraged to challenge yourself gently:

Time

Work against the clock to navigate the beautiful surroundings of Talkin Tarn, and notice how your sense of time changes when you’re out of the office.

Decay

Look closely at “dead” wood and the different phases of a tree’s life, and explore what endings, pruning and letting go might mean for your business.

Resilience

See how woodland systems adapt to stress and change, and ask how adaptable you and your business really are in a changing world.

Who is this for?

  • Owners and leaders of small and medium‑sized businesses

  • People curious about natural intelligence: nature‑based thinking, even if you don’t see yourself as “outdoorsy”

  • Anyone feeling a bit stuck or stale who wants a reset, not another webinar
